How do I get a prescription through you?
New prescriptions may be submitted into our pharmacy by a licensed veterinarian. Prescriptions can be submitted directly through our website. Prescriptions may also be called into our pharmacy during normal business hours at 860-628-3972 or you may call after hours and leave us a voice mail with prescription and contact information. Additionally, orders may be faxed to 860-621-7862.
If you are a pet owner filling a refill you may submit your request directly through our website. Refills are also accepted by phone 860-628-3972. If you have questions regarding obtaining a new order please call 860-628-3972.
We strive to fill every order as quickly as possible, but with accuracy and care. We are happy to meet the needs of any species.
How do I pay for the medication?
For Pet Owners: We accept credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express), checks, and cash. We are unable to bill CareCredit or prescription discount cards for compound orders.
For Clinics: We accept credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express), checks, and cash. You may also request to be invoiced monthly.
Do you accept my insurance plan?
No, we are unable to bill your pet's insurance carrier directly. You should contact your pet insurance carrier to inquire about medication reimbursement policies.
How is the prescription shipped?
We ship Monday through Friday via the United States Postal Service (USPS) or United Parcel Service (UPS).
May I pick up my prescription at your pharmacy?
Yes, you may pick-up your prescription during normal business hours.
How much time should I allow for my prescription refill to arrive?
We strive to fill orders as quickly as we can and understand some medications should be started as soon as possible. It is best to let us know ahead of time if your order is time sensitive, and our staff will be happy to schedule a pick-up time or shipment date with you. We try to process all new orders within 24 hours of receiving them, and ask for 2 to 3 business days to complete refill orders. Most medications will be prepared within 2 business days, however, some medications are available for pick-up or scheduled for shipment the same day they are called in. Orders that are shipped from our facility may take 1 to 2 business days to arrive at your door. If the bottle says there are no refills remaining, do I contact my veterinarian or the pharmacy directly?
You may contact Beacon to obtain additional refills. Our pharmacy is able to contact your veterinarian to obtain authorization. Please note once a request has been sent to your veterinarian, our pharmacy must obtain approval before processing a medication order.
You may also contact your veterinarian directly and request an order to be called into Beacon Prescription.
Do you carry Heartgard® and Frontline® Plus?
No, you may contact your veterinarian for additional information.
How do I dispose of unused medicine?
We do not offer medication disposal. You should contact your local town hall and inquire about medication disposal services. Some medications are hazardous and should be handled with care. If you are unsure if your compounded medication is considered hazardous, please contact us directly.
